Lawyer for the former Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, Frank Davies, has stated that the legal team is ever ready to consider the next legal options after the High Court in Accra dismissed an application challenging an arrest warrant issued by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP).
During court proceedings on Thursday, July 31, 2025, the High Court held that Mr. Ofori-Atta’s application lacked merit, allowing the warrant and related legal processes to proceed uninterrupted.
Reacting to the ruling, Mr. Frank Davies noted that the legal team is carefully analysing the next legally available option.
“The High Court has delivered its ruling, and we will explore the next steps available to us. There are avenues open to every lawyer, and we’ll consider them carefully,” he said.
Mr. Ofori-Atta had argued that the OSP unlawfully secured the arrest warrant as part of its ongoing probe into alleged corruption and procurement breaches during his tenure. However, the court sided with the Special Prosecutor, upholding the legitimacy of the warrant.
This development marks the latest chapter in the standoff between the former minister and the anti-corruption agency. Mr. Ofori-Atta has yet to appear before the OSP, citing ongoing medical treatment abroad. In June, the OSP declared him a wanted person and began working with Interpol to facilitate his arrest.
