The Ghana Armed Forces has announced the commencement of investigations into the alleged misconduct of some of its personnel during a confrontation with journalists along the Spintex Road in Accra on Tuesday, July 30, 2025.
Acting on a directive from the Presidency, the military says it is taking the matter seriously and has assured the public of a thorough probe to establish the facts and ensure accountability.
The incident, which occurred during a public operation, has raised fresh concerns about press freedom and the conduct of security forces during engagements with civilians.
